Who: Dr. Marianne Chambers and Prince Sebastian II

From the back: Just as Seb had tasted normal life, he was forced to do his duty. Accepting the crown meant losing his most precious gift–the love of an ordinary girl. Now, years on, Marianne Chambers is visiting Andovaria. Seb has been given the second chance he’s always longed for. But can he fight tradition and crown Marianne as his very own princess?

Comments: I struggled a few days on how to write this one up, without giving away too much. This is what I’ve come up with:

I liked the book very much. It’s a good book to read when you need a break from all those suspense novels and intense paranormals. It’s a great little fairytale about getting a second chance at love with a man who just happens to be a prince.

Seb’s a nice guy, even if he failed to tell Marianne that he’s a prince. At nineteen, free from responsibilities and the eyes of the press, he fell in love with the eighteen-year-old Marianne. Called home urgently, to prepare for his ascension to the throne sooner than expected, Seb was overwhelmed. He tried to explain to his ailing father that he was in love with Marianne but, in the end, he himself was persuaded to put his duty to Andovaria first. Ten years go by before he ever sees or speaks to her again.

I liked Marianne. She’s justifiable in her anger. She had no way to contact him when he left her in Paris. She learned the truth about Seb being a prince when his engagement to another woman was announced. Ten years later, Marianne doesn’t want anything to do with Seb. However, her mentor Professor Blackwell is offered the opportunity to study a major historical find in Andovaria. The problem? Blackwell’s eyesight is failing and she’s the one person he trust to assist him.
