You should have seen this one coming … Who is your favorite Male lead character? And why?

Yoda.

I see you don’t believe me.

Dark Rendezvous was one of my favorite books in 2006! It had Yoda traveling in disguise! As an R2 unit! Funny stuff!

Yeah, yeah, I know: if I liked Austen’s heroines, then it stands to reason. . . Mr. Darcy, Colonel Brandon, Henry Tilney, Captain Wentworth, and Mr. Knightley. Edward Ferrars was nice enough, I suppose, but I liked the colonel more.

And who wouldn’t want to swept off their feet by the captain of the Millennium Falcon?

Or Yoda?

I also love several of Georgette Heyer’s heroes. Two of my favorite (so far) are Sir Anthony Fanshawe from The Masqueraders and Marcus Drelincourt, Earl of Rule, from The Convenient Marriage. Marcus agrees to marry Horry so that her eldest sister — Marcus’s first choice — can marry the man she loves. And Sir Anthony takes everything in stride — as if all the ladies of his acquaintance habitually cross-dress with their brothers to hide from the law.

Apparently, I’m also partial to shape-shifters: Sirius Black and Remus Lupin from the Harry Potter books. Risk and Kol from Lori Devoti’s Nocturnes. Curran from Magic Bites.

I could go on. It’s sad, I know, but I’m rather easy to please when it comes to heroes. It would be so much easier for me to point out ones I did not like.
